Aluminum Propeller vs. Stainless Steel Propeller

Most pleasure boats are factory equipped with an aluminum prop. While aluminum propellers are relatively inexpensive, they usually require repairing more often.

Stainless steel propellers are more expensive initially, but they are stronger and more durable than aluminum propellers. Therefore, they usually require less repairing over the lifetime of the propeller. A stainless steel prop usually gives better performance in speed and acceleration.
